ANTI-TERRORISM OPERATION UPDATE (30.08.06)
The Metropolitan Police Service has announced that three more suspects have been charged in connection with the anti-terrorism operation which took place earlier this month, bringing the total charged to 15 people. Five more suspects remain in custody.
CPS AUTHORISES CHARGES IN ALLEGED TERROR PLOT (21.08.06)
The Crown Prosecution Service has announced that it has authorised the charging of eleven of the individuals arrested on 11 August 2006 with a number of terrorism-related offences. Another eleven individuals remain in custody and one more has been released without charge.

ANTI-TERRORIST OPERATION LATEST (15.08.06)
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service Anti-Terrorist Branch have been granted warrants to further detain 22 people arrested during the recent anti-terrorist operation. The warrants have been extended until 16 August 2006.
THREAT LEVEL LOWERED TO "SEVERE" (14.08.06)
The UK's threat level has been lowered to "Severe" following an assessment by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC). This means that a terrorist attack is still highly likely, but is no longer regarded as imminent.
METROPOLITAN POLICE: ANTI-TERRORIST OPERATION (10.08.06)
The Metropolitan Police Service has announced that a major terrorist plot to allegedly blow up aircraft mid-flight has been disrupted in a joint pre-planned intelligence-led operation led by the Met's Anti-Terrorist Branch and Security Service. It is believed that the aim was to detonate explosive devices concealed in hand luggage on board aircraft flying from the UK to the USA.

The Home Secretary, Dr. John Reid MP, has made an official statement about this morning's major counter-terrorist operation to quash a significant terrorist plot and the consequent increase of UK threat levels to "critical".
