Director General Statement on Streatham attack

Published date: 03 Feb 2020

Yesterday we witnessed another abhorrent terror attack on the streets of our capital. There is no doubt that without the extremely rapid and professional intervention of specialist police colleagues, this attack could have been even worse. We are extremely grateful for what they did to keep other members of the public safe. Our thoughts are with the victims as they look to recover from the brutal actions of the attacker.

MI5's priority continues to be ensuring that we understand the threats we face, and working with partners to prevent them from materialising wherever possible.

Sir Andrew Parker
