Specialist roles at MI5

MI5 recruits specialists in all areas of our business, be it corporate (such as lawyers, or occupational psychologists), technology (such as solutions architects or help desk analysts) or languages. To keep the country safe, however, we also require a range of specialisms to work alongside our intelligence functions.

Whilst some of these roles require previous experience, other roles seek individuals from varied backgrounds, who have the ability to transfer their broader career and life experience to the task of keeping the country safe. For some of our niche roles such as speech technologists, you will need specialised experience and skills. For roles such as occupational psychologists, we look for professional qualifications. As many of our specialist roles are involved in supporting our intelligence function you will be immersed in a fast-paced and stimulating environment. And you can be certain that whatever role you undertake, your previous experience will be used in ways that you could never imagine.
