We recognise that university isn’t for everyone. We need people who are fresh out of school, eager to get started and want to do something interesting and exciting. Every single person, role, and team in our organisation plays its part in helping us keep the country safe. We offer a range of opportunities from busy administrative roles to technical training programmes. Whether you are supporting one of our investigative teams, administrating in human resources or starting out on our Technical Apprenticeship Scheme, you will be part of a supportive team with the opportunity to develop and learn about the exciting work of MI5.
Our administration assistants work across a variety of departments each offering a range of roles. Responsibilities include organising meetings and diaries, managing our information and records, booking travel, looking after our visitors, uploading reports, and providing essential support to our officers.
This is an ideal role for a school leaver, people coming back to work after a career break or those looking for a change of career.
Working with MI5, SIS and GCHQ you will learn about – and work with – some of the world’s most cutting-edge technologies that sit at the heart of British intelligence. During the two year scheme you’ll gain a Foundation Degree in Communications, Security and Engineering, and a level 4 Diploma in IT, Software, Web and Telecommunications Competence. The programme will lead to exciting roles within the intelligence agencies.
Our English language analysts listen to lawfully intercepted conversations, picking out essential information that will help our investigations. You will analyse telephone conversations and eavesdropping product intercepted under warrant for some of our highest priority investigations. Although the majority of your time will be spent listening to audio material you will also produce reports for our investigative and operational partners.
